Online Method with Direct Internet Connection
Identifying and acquiring new product content and updated code is difficult without an automatic update capability.
An Administrator configures CA Enterprise Log Manager to update itself through a direct Internet connection. Even though CA Enterprise Log Manager is on a protected network, it updates properly through a single firewall port.

Offline Method
Identifying and acquiring new product content and updated code is difficult without an automatic update capability.
Your organization is on an ‘air-gap’ network that is physically separated from the Internet.
Your Administrator can configure a server on the Internet-attached network to download product content and code updates. After the download, the Administrator can burn the downloaded files to CD, walk this CD across the 'air-gap,' and install the CD in the CA Enterprise Log Manager soft appliance. CA Enterprise Log Manager recognizes and applies the updates immediately.
