Apply the Offline Update
The following procedure assumes that you are using a hub and spoke architecture, where the default subscription proxy is either online or offline. If you have subscription clients that get updates by proxies other than the default subscription proxy, repeat this procedure for each of those proxies.
To apply the offline update
- Log on to CA Enterprise Log Manager.
- Click the Administrator tab and the Services subtab.
- Expand the Subscription Module and select the CA Enterprise Log Manager configured as the default subscription proxy.
- If the default subscription proxy is an offline subscription proxy, go to Step 6.
- If the default subscription proxy is an online proxy, change its role to Offline subscription proxy:
- Select the name of the local CA Enterprise Log Manager host.
- Clear the Subscription proxy checkbox and select Offline subscription proxy.
- Click Save.
This change populates the list under available modules to download with the updated modules you extracted into the download path.
- Apply updates to the content repository and the clients; verify successful completion:
- Move all modules available for download to the selected list.
- If needed, update the other subscription settings.
- Click Save.
The offline proxy pushes content to the content repository and self-installs the binary updates. The CA Enterprise Log Manager clients that point to this server as a proxy download and install the binary updates.
- Monitor the self-monitoring events.
- Apply updates to agents and connectors, if available.
- If you changed the configuration of your default subscription proxy from online to offline and now want to resume scheduled subscription updates, reverse the configuration.
