The Remote Control viewer component provides information about setting up your computer to act as a viewer computer. The viewer computer remotely controls another computer acting as the host. The viewer contains the following components, which are available either from the DSM Remote Control tree view or the Quick Start section of the Viewer pane:
Displays the Tasks pane with step-by-step instructions to guide you through key Remote Control operations.
Displays the global address book (GAB), which is controlled and maintained by the remote control manager. The global address book is filtered to contain the hosts to which users may connect. Connecting from the GAB is the preferred method when working in a centrally managed environment.
Displays the local address book (LAB), which is controlled and maintained by the local user of the viewer rather than by a central administrator. The local address book contains computers that the user manually enters. Connecting from the LAB is the preferred method when working in a stand-alone environment.
Displays the My Favorites folder, which provides an area for storing information about your preferred computers.
Displays the Recently Used folder, which lists the most recent computers to which you connected.
Displays the My Sessions folder, which provides the ability to view and manage a remote control session. From My Sessions, you can enable recording, initiate chat sessions, control the session’s display, send special key sequences, and use the clipboard.
