CA IT Client Manager provides a state-of-the-art remote control product, Remote Control, specifically designed for centralized enterprise management. It can be used in a variety of situations, from the small privately held company with an owner who wants to work from home to very large enterprises with computers located around the world. It is also valuable for help desk technicians, who can investigate and solve problems remotely, and for classroom training or meetings.
The Remote Control viewer lets you access remote services such as network applications, transfer files among domain managers and workstations, and take control of distributed desktops. After the product is installed, use one of the following methods to access the viewer:
Note: You can also launch a web version of the viewer, the RC Web Viewer interface, by double-clicking RCViewer.html located in the Program Files\CA\DSM\bin folder.
The viewer includes the following features:
Lets you control a remote computer as if you were sitting in front of it.
Transfers files between viewer and host computers using the Remote Control convenient file transfer feature.
Establishes an interactive chat session with a user during a remote control session.
Records remote control session activity for later playback in the Remote Control replayer.
Prints from the computer you are controlling to a printer installed on the viewer.
Powers up a single PC and controls it from the viewer.
Redirects smart card authentication of user credentials from a Remote Control viewer to a remote host computer.
Note: The term Windows refers to the Microsoft Windows operating system, including Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Server 2008. Unless specifically designated, Windows refers to any supported Microsoft Windows operating system.
