Create a Service Level Template from a Template Library

A Service Level Template can be created from a Template Library by either of two methods:

To create a Service Level Template from a Template Library without a contract template:

  1. In the Template Library page on the left pane, click a Template Library or Template Folder under which you want to create the Service Level Template.
  2. On the toolbar, click Service Portfolio Management_add new buttonand select Service Level Template, Using Template Library - Without Template.

    - or -

    On the right pane, click Add New, Service Level Template, Using Template Library - Without Template.

    The Service Level Template Wizard page Select from Service Level Template step opens.

  3. On the right pane, use the filter to narrow the search by selecting a specific contract party, effective range, or status and click Apply.

    -or-

    Expand each Template Library and select individual Services and metrics. When selecting individual metrics, mandatory metrics must be selected. Click Get Mandatory to select all mandatory metrics under each Service Level Template that was used.

    If mandatory metrics exist, but were not selected a confirmation dialog box opens when clicking Save and Next. Select the appropriate choice and click OK.

    Select Keep the original Services to apply the selected metrics with their services.

    -or-

    Select Attach all metrics to this Service and click Search to find and select the Services to which the metrics are applied. Click Add New to add a Service.

    Note: The Keep original services and Attach all metrics options are only available when CA Business Service Insight is configured to allow services to be overridden. Go to Administration, Site Settings, Advanced, Contract.

  4. Click Next.

    The Details step opens.

  5. Modify the Service Level Template as desired. For more information, see Creating a Service Level Template From Scratch.
  6. Click Back to return to the previous step.
  7. Click Cancel to discard changes and return to the previous page.
  8. Click Save and Next.

    The Service Level Template is saved and the Edit Parameters step opens.

    Note: The Service Level Template is created and saved and you can exit out of the wizard. The next steps can be performed by editing the Service Level Template at a later stage as well.

  9. Click Add Parameter to create parameters. For more information, see Adding Parameters.
  10. Click Order Parameters to set the order of the parameters. For more information, see Ordering Parameters.
  11. Click Save and Next.

    The Summary step opens.

  12. In the What's next box, click a desired choice or click Done.

To create a Service Level Template from a Template Library using a contract template:

  1. In the Template Library page in the left pane, click a Template Library or Template Folder under which you want to create the Service Level Template.
  2. On the toolbar, click Service Portfolio Management_add new buttonand select Service Level Template, Using Template Library, Based on Template.

    -or-

    On the right pane, click Add New, Service Level Template, Using Template Library, Based on Template.

    The Service Level Template Wizard page Select Contract Template step opens.

  3. On the right pane, use the filter to narrow the search by selecting a specific contract party, effective range, or status and click Apply.

    -or-

    Expand each Template Library and select a contract template and click Next.

    The Details step containing the information from the contract template opens.

    Note: Metrics that are statically clustered in the source contract become dynamically clustered on the same group. For more information, see Creating a Clustered Metric.

  4. Modify the Service Level Template as desired. For more information, see Creating a Service Level Template From Scratch.
  5. Click Back to return to the previous step.
  6. Click Cancel to discard changes and return to the previous page.
  7. Click Save and Next.

    The Service Level Template is saved and the Edit Parameters step opens.

    Note: The Service Level Template is created and saved and you can exit out of the wizard. The next steps can be performed by editing the Service Level Template at a later stage as well.
