Installing the Rules Facility

This chapter explains the steps you will need to perform before you can use the Rules Facility. Be sure to perform them in the order presented. These steps should be performed by the system administrator.

The following list provides the steps to follow before starting to use the Rules Facility:

  1. Create the rules database minidisk.
  2. Add an IUCV statement to the CA VM:Secure directory entry.
  3. Increase the size of the AUDT minidisk.
  4. Edit the SECURITY CONFIG file to add system security records and to create security groups.
  5. Edit the AUTHORIZ CONFIG file to create authorizations for the Rules Facility.
  6. Edit the VMXRPI CONFIG file and generate the CA VM:Secure CP component as part of a new CP nucleus.
  7. Edit the PRODUCT CONFIG file to identify the rules database minidisk and the product interfaces.
  8. Shut down your entire CP system and re–IPL using the new CP nucleus.

To perform these tasks, you must be authorized to use the commands presented in each step.
