Step 1: Create the Rules Minidisk

The rules minidisk holds all the rules files that are created when you use the Rules Facility. Therefore, you must create the rules minidisk before you can create rules.

To create the Rules Minidisk

  1. Log on to VMANAGER.
  2. Enter the following command:
    vmsecure manage vmsecure

The Manager Selection Menu is displayed.

  3. Choose option 2, Define and Format a New Minidisk.
  4. In the For Device field, specify the following:
    1B4

  5. Press Enter.
  6. Fill in the fields on the screen. To figure the size of your minidisk, take approximately one–half the size of your DRCT minidisk. Do not give the minidisk any passwords.
  7. Press Enter.
  8. Give the minidisk the following label:
    RULE

  9. Press Enter.

You will see a message on your screen that tells you the minidisk is being formatted. When formatting is finished, the Manager Selection Menu is displayed.

  10. Press Enter to update the directory.

The rules minidisk is formatted but will remain empty until rules are created with the RULES command.

  11. Continue to Step 2: Add an IUCV Statement to the CA VM:Secure Directory Entry.
