Note: The fields available in the Host Definition dialog varies, depending on whether the host is an Open System host or a z/OS host.

This field is optional for z/OS host definitions. If you do not enter a user name, you will be prompted for it each time you try to connect to the z/OS host.
Select the password type of the system you are defining the connection for. This field is only available for z/OS host definitions.
The password is an ordinary password of up to 8 characters.
The password is a passphrase between 9 and up to 100 characters.
The password is a token + PIN combination.

This field is optional for z/OS host definitions. If you do not enter a password string, you will be prompted for it each time you try to connect to the z/OS host. If Password Type is Token + PIN, the Password String cannot be specified here, it must be specified each time you log on.
Note: If your password expires, you must change the password in the host definition.
Required only if you supplied a password or passphrase in the Password String field. Re-enter your password or passphrase.
(Optional) Select Yes to activate trace. Messages relating to the host-client communication are saved in a log file. The log file has the same name as the host with a .DAT extension. It is created in the Brightstor SRM Data\Database\Log directory on the computer where the Windows Client is installed. The log is for CA Technical Support purposes. The Client Trace is available for both Open Systems and z/OS hosts.
Note: The trace is automatically disabled each time the Windows Client starts.
(Optional) Select Yes to activate the trace on the host. It creates a trace of all the messages exchanged between the host and the Windows Client, which is used by CA Technical Support for debugging purposes. The trace messages are written to the MSGExxxx DDname of the CA Vantage SRM started task on the z/OS host. Available only for z/OS hosts.
When activated, the Windows Client sends the value "EWS10T" during logon to the host to enable the trace.
Note: The trace is automatically disabled each time the Windows Client starts.
Use the Test button at the bottom of the Host Definition dialog, if necessary, to confirm connectivity to the z/OS host.
