The TCP tab provides configuration information about how Internet Protocol (IP/TCP) functions during a remote connection. TCP/IP is the most commonly used communications protocol, and it is used for Internet-based connection and most corporate LAN/WAN, VPN, and RAS environments.
Note: When running in a centrally managed environment, the domain manager controls the user’s ability to set or modify these settings.
To configure TCP options
Note: You must have administrator permissions to change network settings.
You can view the number of the port that Remote Control uses to communicate with viewers. By default, this is the common listening port used by all DSM components. You can change this port number on the Advanced tab page of the DSM Properties - Common Agent Properties dialog. Check with your system administrator when establishing connections through firewalls and proxy servers.
Note: This is the default port used for both host and viewer connections. See the Remote Control Viewer Help for configuring a host to listen on one port and to have the viewer connect to a remote host on a different port.
