The Recording tab contains options used for locally recording remote control sessions made to the current host. This is independent of a viewer's recording of a session and enables the host to force sessions to be recorded for auditing purposes. In a centrally managed environment, the domain manager determines who can set or modify these values.
This tab contains the following fields:
Permits remote control sessions made to this host to be recorded, according to user permissions.
Default: True
Specifies that all sessions made to this host should be recorded, regardless of user permissions. If False, the permissions of the connecting user are used to determine whether the session should be recorded (see the Record on Host permission).
Default: False
Specifies that concurrent sessions be recorded separately and saved in individual *.urc files.
Default: True
Specifies that no recording take place when the host is at the Windows login window. This option must be selected if you chose to record files using Current Logged On User Credentials.
Default: True
Specifies the default path for saving recorded sessions. If blank, recording files are stored in the system-wide Temporary folder by default.
Note: It is possible to record sessions to a remote network share, for example, a central file server, by specifying a UNC path. However, you must ensure that the user account used to store the recording has sufficient privileges to connect to the network share. Therefore, either record with the Current Logged On User Credentials option enabled or configure the network share to accept Null-session connections, because the Service Account Credentials option does not have privileges on remote computers.
Sets the maximum amount of bandwidth used for the local session recording.
Note: This is independent of the bandwidth permitted for viewer sessions. For example, you might set the recording bandwidth to a low value to save disk space (consequently, sacrificing recording quality) while leaving viewer sessions unaffected.
Valid maximum bandwidth values are as follows:
Default: Unlimited
Indicates the type of user credentials to be used when saving recording files. Valid values are as follows:
Displays credentials of the user account under which the recording files are saved. By default, this is the Local System account on Windows and "root" on Linux/Mac OS X.
Displays credentials of the currently logged on user.
Default: Service Account Credentials
Displays tips for selecting options or entering information in fields or dialogs.
This tab contains the following button:
Provides access to a standard Browse for Folder dialog, which lets you navigate the folder path for saving recorded sessions.
