Configure the VDI Solution Dataset
This section describes how you can configure the VDI Solution data set. A data set stores data in CA Process Automation. For example, information that is related to the administrators email address, number of snapshots that are allowed for a specific account.
Follow these steps:
- Click Library, expand the CA ASC VMware VDA folder.
- Select Configuration, go to the Contents section.
- Right-click VDISolutionDataset and click Check out.
- Right-click VDISolutionDataset and click Edit.
- Click Execution Settings, and select the touchpoint that is listed, that you created in the section Create the Touchpoint.
- Click Email Settings, complete the following fields:
- adminEmailID

Defines the administrator email address, who is notified in a failure or issue. Use a semicolon (;) to add multiple email addresses.
- adminSLCMUserID
-
Defines the user ID of the CA Service Catalog administrator. To perform the manual steps, CreateCustomVD process uses this ID to provision a custom virtual desktop.
- Click OK
- Click VMware View Parameters, complete the following fields, and click OK:
- viewConnectionServer

Defines the server name where VMware View is installed.
- Click Pool Details.
- Expand the Single folder.
The Single snapshot capturing capability is enabled.
- Select poolList.
- Right-click and select Add Indexed value.
- Double-click the newly added pool.
A Value field appears.
- Type the name of a virtual desktop pool ID in the Value field and click OK.
Note: For more information about virtual desktop pool IDs, see the appendix Virtual Desktop Pools.
- Repeat Steps 11-15 for virtual desktop pools where only a single snapshot is allowed.
- Expand all the folders in the Multiple folder.
Multiple snapshots capturing capability is enabled.
- Right-click and select Add Indexed value.
- Double-click the newly added pool.
A Value field appears.
- Type the name of a virtual desktop pool ID in the Value field and click OK.
- Repeat Steps 17-20 for virtual desktop pools where multiple snapshots are allowed.
- Expand the folder DeProvision VD Parameters.
This option lets you delete the virtual desktop.
Set the value of deleteVD to False to retain the virtual desktop, set the value of deleteVD to True to delete it from vCenter.
- Click Save, click Check in, and then click OK.
- Close the data set.
The data sets for the solution are configured.
