Search Results

The Search Results section contains a table that lists the virtual resources that match the search criteria with some basic properties. You can use the Search Results section to create, edit, copy, or delete resources or to run reports for existing resources.

Notes:

• Only the resources that the user has been authorized to view appear in the search results list.
• To sort by a specific column, click the column heading. Clicking it again toggles between ascending and descending order.

This section contains the following columns:

Select

Specifies whether an item is marked for processing. Selecting the check box next to an item indicates that the item should be processed.

Type

Specifies the type of resource. Supported virtual resource types are:

—Depletable

—Renewable

—Threshold

Name

Displays the name of the virtual resource. Clicking the name loads the virtual resource into the Properties section, where the resource can be modified or copied to a different CA Workload Automation AE instance.

Machine

Displays the name of the machine that is defined on the CA Workload Automation AE instance where the virtual resource is saved.

Amount

Displays the number of resources included in the definition.

Amount in Use

Specifies the number of resources being used by jobs.

Description

Displays an optional comment that describes the virtual resource.

Select and:

Lets you select an action to be performed on the items marked for processing.

The following actions are available:

• Report—Generates a report for the selected virtual resources and displays the results in the Resource Report section.
• Create—Creates a new virtual resource on the selected server or machine.
• Create Global—Creates a new global virtual resource on the selected server.
• Update—Copies the properties for the selected virtual resources to the matching virtual resources on the specified server or machine.
• Update Global—Copies the properties for the selected global virtual resource to the matching global resource on the specified server.
• Delete—Deletes the selected virtual resources from the selected server or machine. A confirmation prompt is displayed and the selected items are not deleted until you click OK.

This option contains the following fields:

Server

Specifies the CA Workload Automation AE instance on which the virtual resource resides.

Machine

Specifies the name of the machine that is defined on the CA Workload Automation AE instance where the virtual resource is saved. You can enter one or more names, separated by commas. Clicking opens the Select Machines dialog, from which you can select a specific machine or multiple machines.

This section contains the following icon in the Actions column:

Report

Loads the information for that resource into the Resource Report section and runs a report.
