Stop a Service

To change your configuration settings, you must stop the service. On Windows, you can stop the scheduler, agent, web server, or the application server service using the Services - CA Workload Automation AE Administrator window.

Note: Only the EXEC superuser can stop a service.

Follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, Programs, CA, Workload Automation AE, Administrator.

The Instance - CA Workload Automation AE Administrator window opens.

  2. Select an instance from the Instance drop-down list in the Settings pane.
  3. Click the Services icon on the toolbar.

The Services - CA Workload Automation AE Administrator window appears, displaying a list of services installed on the selected instance.

  4. Right-click the service and select Stop.

The selected service stops. The Status column indicates the status.

Note: You can also stop a service by selecting the service and clicking the Stop Service icon on the toolbar.

Note: You can use the sendevent –E STOP_DEMON –v option to stop the primary scheduler, shadow scheduler, tie-breaker scheduler, and all the application servers. For more information about the sendevent command, see the Reference Guide.
