Pause the Scheduler or Application Server Service
You can pause and resume the scheduler or the application server service to read the modified values of the following parameters on the CA Workload Automation AE Administrator at runtime:
- Cross Platform Scheduling
- Global Pend Mach Interval
- Global Pend Mach Status
- Global Pend Mach Delay
- Set Job Attribute Environmentals
- Aggregator Statistics
- Enable IP Caching
- ISDBGACTIV
- LOGROLLOVER
- Method
- SMTP Host
- Server Node (for Notification Services Component of CA NSM)
- SMTP Server Requires Authentication
- SMTP User
- SMTP Password
- SMTP From Address
- Timeout (for Notification Services Component of CA NSM)
- Forward All CA WAAE Scheduler Log Messages to Event Management (for Event Management)
- Web Service Login ID (for CA Service Desk)
- Web Service Login Password (for CA Service Desk)
- Web Service Customer (for CA Service Desk)
- URL Location (for CA Service Desk)
- Web Service Login ID (for CA Automation Suite for Data Centers)
- Web Service Login Password (for CA Automation Suite for Data Centers)
- URL Location (for CA Automation Suite for Data Centers)
Notes:
- The scheduler and application server also refresh the internal components responsible for managing real resources.

Follow these steps:
- Click Start, Programs, CA, Workload Automation AE, Administrator.
The Instance - CA Workload Automation AE Administrator window opens.
- Select an instance from the Instance drop-down list in the Settings pane.
- Click the Services icon on the toolbar.
The Services - CA Workload Automation AE Administrator window appears, displaying a list of services installed on the selected instance.
- Right-click the service, and click Pause.
The selected service pauses. The Status column indicates the status.
Note: You can also pause a service by selecting the service and clicking the Pause Service icon on the toolbar.
- Right-click the service, and click Resume.
The selected service resumes. The Status column indicates the status.
