When you have met the conditions above, begin the migration procedure by generating CA VM:Tape mount requests for both the reel and cartridge tapes. Next, migrate the data from the reel tape to cartridge tape using standard VM/ESA tape facilities. Following the migration, you can use the CA VM:Tape CATALOG command to add data set name and password information in the TMC for the new cartridge. Then, use the EDIT command to mark the reel tape volser as deleted from the TMC. You can physically remove the deleted tape from the TMC later. Finally, edit the CJOB field in the TMC to reflect the final owner of the tape.
