Help for Rules Statements
If you enter an incorrect rule when using the RULES command to create or update your rules file, the RULES HELP facility is available to show you the correct rule syntax and usage of each field.
When you try to save a rules file that contains an incorrect rule, the rule in error is indicated by the following messages:
UPDATE OF USER ‘user’ RULES FAILED
DO YOU WISH TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM?
ANSWER ‘YES’, ‘NO’, OR ‘HELP’:
- If you answer YES, you are put into XEDIT where you can correct the rule in error.
- If you answer NO, the RULES command ends without saving any changes to the rules file.
- If you answer HELP, you are put into the CA VM:Secure RULES HELP facility.
- At the end of the screen display, the messages are repeated, allowing you to edit your rules file, exit the file, or see the HELP screen again.
