Introduction

This document is written for all system administrators or system programmers who are responsible for installing the CA VM:Secure for z/VM (CA VM:Secure) Rules Facility. It also contains information that can be used by directory managers who use rules to maintain system security.

Note: This document is for CA VM:Secure only; it does not apply to CA VM:Director for z/VM (CA VM:Director).

It is assumed that you have some experience using z/VM and CMS, and are familiar with the following:

• Conventions for naming: CMS files and Shared File System (SFS) directories
• Receiving files from virtual reader
• Directory management
• z/VM security concepts.
