Keep the following points in mind when you install and run the Rules Facility:
The Rules Facility requires you to generate replacement CP modules into your system nucleus. This procedure to install these replacements into your VM system is documented in Installing the Rules Facility.
If you install the optional Password Encryption Facility (PEF), unencrypted (clear text) passwords are no longer kept in the CP object directory or in the CA VM:Secure directory database. Software that references the directory database or CP object directory for passwords may not work if the PEF is in place.
There is no interface between DIAGNOSE X’84’ (directory update in place) and CA VM:Secure. To issue the DIAGNOSE instruction, you must supply the actual online (encrypted) password or authorize the function by adding OPTION D84NOPAS to the issuer directory entry. Also, any new link or logon passwords set with DIAGNOSE X’84’ are treated as the encrypted versions of unknown clear text passwords. If password phrase support is enabled, a password changed by DIAGNOSE X’84’ is not the password used during LOGON processing.
