Perform a New CA Business Intelligence r3.3 Installation
You perform a new installation to install the required client, server, and optional components on one server.
This procedure provides the required installation settings that are related to CA SOI and CA Business Intelligence r3.3. For more information about each screen, see the CA Business Intelligence r3.3 Implementation Guide, which is provided on the CA SOI bookshelf and with the CA Business Intelligence installation media.
Follow these steps:
- Locate the CA Business Intelligence for Windows disk that is provided with CA SOI.
- Run setup.exe.
- On the Choose Setup Language dialog, select a language and click Next.
- Complete the fields for each screen as described in the following Steps and click Next after completing each screen:
- On the License Agreement screen, accept the license agreement.
- On the Choose Language Packs screen, select the language packs you want to install.
Note: Each additional language pack adds approximately two hours to the installation time.
- On the Install Type screen, select the New option and the Install SQL Anywhere Database Server option and click Next.
Note: Typically, only those environments that have an existing supported version of CA Business Intelligence select the existing database option; all other environments create a database.
- On the Server Components Configuration screen, enter the port and password information. On your Installation Worksheet, locate the CA Business Intelligence section and update the "CA BI BusinessObjects CMS Port" and "CA BI BusinessObjects Administrator" entries.
- On the Server Intelligence Agent screen, enter the Server Intelligence Agent node and port number. On your Installation Worksheet, locate the CA Business Intelligence section and update the "CA BI SIA Node" and "CA BI SIA Administrator" entries.
Note: Do not use spaces, hyphens, or non-alphanumeric characters in the node name. By default, the node name is the same as the system host name. However, if the host name contains spaces, hyphens, or non-alphanumeric characters, enter a different name for the agent.
- On the SQL Anywhere Database Server Configuration screen, complete the fields to use MySQL as the BusinessObjects CMS database:
- SQL Anywhere Port Number
-
Specifies the port number for the SQL Anywhere database server in the SQL Anywhere Port Number field. Use the default port unless the port number is unavailable.
Default: 2638
- Data Source Name
-
Specifies the data source name for the SQL Anywhere database server.
Default: BOE120
- Enter and confirm a password for the SQL Anywhere DBA user account in the SQL Anywhere DBA User Account area.
- Enter the user name and specify a password for the SQL Anywhere BusinessObjects database user account in the SQL Anywhere BusinessObjects User Account.
- On your Installation Worksheet, locate the CA Business Intelligence section and update the SQL Anywhere entries.
- On the Select Web Application Server screen, select the Install Tomcat application server and deploy to it option.
Note: Due to security issues with IIS in the past, we recommend using Tomcat.
- On the Configure Tomcat screen, enter the port information by accepting the default values or enter the port numbers. On your Installation Worksheet, locate the CA Business Intelligence section and update the Tomcat entries.
- Start the installation.
- Once the installation is complete, restart the CA Business Intelligence server, then Apply SP6 to upgrade to CA Business Intelligence r3.3 SP1.
