Installation Requirements

Integrating CA SOI and HP Service Manager through CA Process Automation requires the installation of the following products on separate servers:

CA SOI

Install CA SOI according to the instructions in the Implementation Guide.

HP Service Manager

Install HP Service Manager on a separate system from CA SOI or CA Process Automation. Perform configuration steps in HP Service Manager after installation to enable the integration with CA Process Automation. If you use custom fields on your HP Service Manager web service, more configuration is required to support these fields. For more information about installing HP Service Manager, see the HP Service Manager documentation.

CA Catalyst Container

Install the CA Catalyst Container on the system that you plan to install the CA Catalyst connector for HP Service Manager. The CA Catalyst Container is a prerequisite for the connector. The Container and connector must reside on a separate system from CA SOI, CA Process Automation, and HP Service Manager. Find the following supported versions on CA Support Online:

CA Catalyst connector for HP Service Manager

Install the CA Catalyst connector for HP Service Manager on the system where you installed the CA Catalyst Container. For more information about installing the connector, see the HP Service Manager Connector Guide. Find the CA Catalyst connector for HP Service Manager on the CA SOI product page on CA Support Online.

Important! Install CA SOI, HP Service Manager, and the HP Service Manager connector before installing CA Process Automation.

CA Process Automation

Install CA Process Automation on a physical or virtual server that is both separate and dedicated. We do not recommend Installing CA Process Automation on the same server as CA SOI or HP Service Manager.

CA Process Automation is the core component for processing and synchronizing events between CA SOI and HP Service Manager. CA Process Automation provides support for scalability of up to hundreds of alerts at a time using a dedicated CA Process Automation system.

Note: For more information about CA Process Automation system requirements, see the CA Process Automation documentation.

CA EEM

Use the CA EEM server that is installed with CA SOI to provide the authentication and the authorization for CA Process Automation. You can install a dedicated CA EEM on a separate server or on the same server as CA Process Automation, but we recommend sharing the version that is already installed with CA SOI.
