Create Custom HP Service Manager Fields
This procedure describes how to define XML elements to CA Process Automation using the Add custom HPSM fields component of the HPSM Custom Parameters page in CA Process Automation.
Follow these steps:
- Follow the steps for configuring HP Service Manager server settings in Configure HP Service Manager Server Settings (Configure ITIL BMC Remedy Server Settings, Configure HP Service Manager Server Settings) up until you reach the HPSM Custom Parameters page.
The following displays:

- Click
to add a field.
The total number of fields increases by one. Because the index starts at zero, an index value of zero represents the first element.
- Enter 0 and click
in the index field.
The Custom Fields pane appears.
- Complete the following fields and click Finish:
- HPSM field to populate

Specifies the name of the XML element.
- Value for the fields above

Specifies the value for the XML element.
- (Optional) Click
to add an element.
The value for the total number of fields and the index value increment by one.
- (Optional) Enter 1 and click
in the index field.
The Custom Fields pane appears.
- (Optional) Enter the name of the additional element and its value in the appropriate fields.
- Click Finish after you have created all necessary fields.
The request displays on the Start Request Instances pane.
- Click Refresh.
A State value of Completed indicates a successful connection.
