Edit an Action

You can edit a custom action in a rule when required to meet a need in your organization that the predefined actions or custom actions do not meet. You can perform significant edits on custom actions only. Predefined actions permit only limited editing. When required, you can edit a custom action to meet a need in your organization more closely. For example, you can edit a custom action to refine the request email that the action sends.

Follow these steps:

  1. Select Administration, Tools, Events-Rules-Actions.

    The Event Types page appears.

  2. Click the event that contains the rule and custom action of interest.

    The Event Type Details page appears.

  3. Click the Edit icon for the rule that contains the action that you want to add.

    The Rule Details page appears.

  4. Click the Edit icon for the action you want.

    The Edit Action page appears.

  5. Complete the parameters that are open for editing.
  6. Click OK to save the changes.

You have edited the action.
