Troubleshoot Adding Amazon Machine Images

Symptom:

When starting the Add AMI Image wizard, no AMIs are available for selection even though the EC2 server is connected.

Solution:

By default, AMIs are available only to the owner specified in the EC2 server connection. You can change the default so that public AMIs, such as those provided by Amazon, are available to users. Run dpmutil from a Command Prompt on the Reservation Manager server to reconfigure EC2 adding published public AMIs to the inventory.
