Create a Template for Amazon Machine Images

Create one or more reservation templates for AMIs so that users can make reservations in the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2).

Follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the Reservation Manager using CA Server Automation administrator user credentials.
  2. Select Administer Your Reservation Manager, Manage Your Reservation Templates.
  3. Select Create from the Actions menu.
  4. Use the Create Reservation Template wizard to create an AMI template.
    Specify Name page

    Indicates a name and optional description.

    Specify System Image page

    Lists the system images available for deploying new systems. Select an AMI image from the System Images list.

    Specify Requirements page

    Indicates the system requirements. Specify the number of instances to create. (Optional) Change the security groups and select a different instance type (tier of service) if desired

    Specify Actions page

    (Optional) Select actions to run before provisioning a system, or after provisioning is completed or expired.

    Specify Access Policy page

    Select the organizational units whose members are to be granted access to the template.
