Add Amazon Machine Images to Inventory
Add AMIs to the system images inventory so users can reserve AMIs from EC2.
Follow these steps:
- Log in to the Reservation Manager user interface using CA Server Automation administrator credentials.
- Select Administer Your Reservation Manager, Manage Your System Image Inventory.
- Select Add AMI Image from the Actions drop-down menu and make the following selections:
- An operating environment for the AMI or Unknown to view unclassified images
- An image from the filtered list that is based on the operating environment you selected
- (If you specified Unknown for the operating environment) An operating environment from Update OS to classify an unknown image
- A default Tier name (instance type) to use when starting instances of this AMI
- Select the User Override Mode check box if you want to let users change the default instance type when submitting reservations
- Any user data that you want available when this AMI is started
- Move the security groups that are to be used to configure access to instances of this AMI, to the Selected Security Groups area. Select the User Override Mode check box to allow users to change the default security group settings when submitting reservations.
- Move the organizational units that are permitted to install this image to the Selected Organizational Units area, and click Finish.
