Example: Create a Notification Rule
In this example, you associate the site-defined condition macro with the notification rule, attach a message template, and add the Manager as a contact type.
- On the Administration tab, browse to Notifications, Notification Rules.
The Notification Rules List page appears.
- Click Create New.
The Create New Notification Rule page appears.
- Complete the following fields:
- Symbol: Type App1 Notify Managers.
- Object Type: Select Request.
- Description: Type Notify Managers of Priority 1 Application Outages.
- Click Save & Continue.
- Click the Condition link, and select the new Site-defined Condition Macro called Application P1.
- Click Message Template.
The Message Template List page appears.
- Select a message template from the list. Ensure that the Auto Notification option is enabled in the message template.
- On the Contact Types tab, click the Update Contact Type button.
The Contact Type Search page appears.
- Click Search.
The Notification Update Recipients list appears.
- Select Manager from the list on the left, and click the contact selection button (>>).
- When the contact is in the list on the right, click OK.
- Save the notification rule.
The new notification rule appears in the Notification Rule List when you redisplay the page.
