Example: Create a Notification Rule

In this example, you associate the site-defined condition macro with the notification rule, attach a message template, and add the Manager as a contact type.

  1. On the Administration tab, browse to Notifications, Notification Rules.

    The Notification Rules List page appears.

  2. Click Create New.

    The Create New Notification Rule page appears.

  3. Complete the following fields:
  4. Click Save & Continue.
  5. Click the Condition link, and select the new Site-defined Condition Macro called Application P1.
  6. Click Message Template.

    The Message Template List page appears.

  7. Select a message template from the list. Ensure that the Auto Notification option is enabled in the message template.
  8. On the Contact Types tab, click the Update Contact Type button.

    The Contact Type Search page appears.

  9. Click Search.

    The Notification Update Recipients list appears.

  10. Select Manager from the list on the left, and click the contact selection button (>>).
  11. When the contact is in the list on the right, click OK.
  12. Save the notification rule.

    The new notification rule appears in the Notification Rule List when you redisplay the page.
