Perform Conflict and Impact Analysis

During conflict and impact analysis, the requester checks for scheduling conflicts and analyzes the impact of the change order on CIs.

To perform conflict and impact analysis

  1. Open the change order by clicking the email notification link.

    The Change Order Detail page appears.

  2. On the Workflow Tasks tab, click the Requester Impact and Conflict Analysis link.

    The Tasks page appears.

  3. On the Tasks Tab, click the Perform link.

    The Perform Tasks page appears.

  4. Make a note of the Impact and Conflict Analysis instructions and click the link.

    The Change Order Detail page appears.

  5. On the Change Order Conflicts tab, click Conflict Analysis to resolve all scheduling and outstanding conflicts. Resolve all conflicts before implementing the change.

    The Conflicts List appears.

  6. On the Config Items tab, click Impact Analysis to review details about the CIs.

    The Configuration Item List appears.

  7. On the Config. Items tab, click Impact Explorer to review information about each CI.

    The Impact Explorer opens.

  8. Click Visualizer for a graphical view of the CI relationships.

    Note: The Visualizer button is only available when CA CMDB is installed.

  9. Return to the Perform Task page and click Confirm.

    The Workflow Tasks tab shows a link for launching change analysis. The requester receives an email notification to perform change analysis.
