6.2.4.3 CA NetMaster for TCP/IP

CA NetMaster for TCP/IP provides information from a
non-monitor data source, events.  The CA MICS Network
Analyzer processes SMF data generated by the CA NetMaster for
TCP/IP.

IBM TCP/IP runs as a started task in its own address space.
Each of the servers, except Telnet, runs in its own address
space and must be started with its own procedure.  The Telnet
server runs in the same address space as TCP/IP, and is
started automatically when TCP/IP is started.  You must
configure TCP/IP and FTP profiles to collect SMF data for
processing in CA MICS Network Analyzer supports.

The information recorded by TCP/IP consists of:

  o CA NetMaster for TCP/IP Identifier

  o Version Number

  o Release Number

  o Maintenance Level
