Change Configuration Policy Setting to Locally Managed

You can change a centrally managed policy setting to an unmanaged (Locally Managed) policy setting to enable users to control their own configuration policy, as shown in the following example.

To change the common agent setting, Message expiration, from centrally managed to unmanaged

  1. Expand the following tree view nodes in this order:
  2. Click Common Configuration.

    All the setting names, values, and descriptions are shown in the common configuration pane.

  3. Select Message expiration.
  4. In the Tasks portlet, click Make Locally Managed.

    Alternatively, right-click and select Setting, Locally Managed from the context menu.

    The Message expiration setting status is set to Locally Managed.
