User Destinations
If the DNA file you want to apply contains setting for multiple users, you can specify destinations for each of the users you chose to migrate on the User Destinations page:
- Click the plus signs (+) to expand the user list and display all users.
- To redirect all users in a specific domain or Active Directory container, double-click the destination column of the domain or active directory container branch in the user tree.
A Destinations dialog opens. You can enter the new domain or Active Directory container name. All users under the specific user tree branch are relocated to the new domain name or Active Directory container on the destination.
- To redirect a user, double-click the user name in the destination column of the user tree.
A Destinations dialog opens. You can enter the new domain or active directory container and the user name. If you want to rename users, you must enter both the domain name or Active Directory container and the new user name:
Domain2\Michael
Make sure that you also consider the following points:
- The user interface does not verify if the path you enter for a user is valid. If you want to validate the user path before migrating, click Browse in the Destinations dialog. If you click Browse, you can browse for a domain or Active Directory container in which to place the user. You can rename the user account to a non-existent user name, and CA DMM creates the new user profile when the DNA file is applied.
- If you pass a user command line, and select users in the user interface or load a template with user selections, CA DMM ignores the manual and template user selections. The user command line arguments always take precedence. If this situation occurs, a message is written to the Event log and the Debug log.
- If you receive an invalid parameter error while performing a multiple user migration, it might be because the user name for a local account being the same as the computer name.
