Assign a Password
If creating new accounts on the destination system, you must use your network's password policy. Otherwise, CA DMM cannot create the accounts. For example, if all new accounts have a policy to create users with passwords over eight characters, then you should set the password options.
To assign a password on the User Destinations page click Passwords. The Password Options for New Accounts dialog appears. Choose from the following:
Note: If you select randomly generated passwords you must also enter the location to save the password log. The password log defaults to the currently logged on user's My Documents folder. However, you should change the location to a secure location.
Note: If you redirect users to Active Directory, you might receive a warning message, although the user is created in the Active Domain. Active Domain has an option to automatically add new users to the domain users group. This option can be turned off in Active Directory. CA DMM always tries to add the user to the domain users group, which could result in a warning message if the ‘automatically add new users to the domain group’ option in Active Directory is turned on.
