Setting the DECnet Node Name and TCP/IP Host Name

The name of your serviced systems as specified in the configuration database can be different from the node name or host name. The node and host names are needed if you want to log in to a serviced system (see the chapter Using Console Manager From the C3 Interface).

To set the node and host names for your serviced systems, do the following:

  1. Click the mode change button to change to Edit mode.
  2. Click the right mouse button on the system icon, and select Modify from the popup menu. The Modify System dialog box is displayed (see the figure in Setting Control Keys, earlier in this chapter).
  3. Enter the System Name for Login information:

Enter the TCP/IP host name for the serviced system in the TCP/IP field.

Enter the DECnet node name for the serviced system in the DECnet field.

  4. Click OK.
  5. Click the mode change button to change back to Interactive mode.
  6. To save your edits, pull down the Options menu and choose the Save menu item to save the changes you have made.
