Step 2: Exporting the Configuration to a File

To export the contents of the configuration into a text file:

  1. Pull down the File menu and choose the Export... menu item. This displays the Export dialog box.
  2. Enter a name for the export file. Usually the file receives the .PORT extension.
  3. Click OK to save and export the file.

You can edit the file using an editor of your choice.

See the section, “Using the Command Line Interface to the Configuration Editor,” for instructions on how to do this process using the command line interface.

Note: In order to use the same configuration file on all Console Manager systems, the SCSNODE name must match the TCP name for each system. To verify, ping the OpenVMS system by name.
