Failover support is new to Console Manager beginning with version 3.0. You can designate both a primary and a secondary host for each serviced system or device. By defining the same configuration on all primary hosts and all secondary hosts, you are assured of full coverage of your serviced systems.
Once defined, the secondary host polls the primary host on a fixed interval ensuring its ability to manage the systems assigned to it.

Whenever a secondary host cannot reach a primary host, it attempts to take control of the serviced systems for which it is designated the secondary host.
While in control, the secondary host continues to poll the primary host. Once the secondary host restores communication with the primary host, it releases control of the appropriate systems.
