(Database) Update SA Store Connection for CA Business Intellignce

Follow these steps:

  1. Shut down the CA SAM Application Server and CA SAM User Interface Server services on the SA Manager system(SOI machine)
  2. Open Reports designer in oss-sdm2
  3. Login using administrator / Austin@123
  4. Select Tools, Connections from the menu bar

    Note: Perform the following steps in both CA_SAM and CSDP connections in Connection wizard.

  5. Select CA_SAM name and click Edit.
  6. Update sa user password in the Password field and test connection and proceed further
  7. Select Start, Programs, BusinessObjects XI 3.1, BusinessObjects Enterprise, Central Configuration Manager.
  8. The Central Configuration Manager dialog opens.
  9. Select Apache Tomcat 6.0.24 and Server Intelligence Agent, click Stop, and then click Start when the services stop.

    The database password is changed on the report server.

  10. Access the Control Panel on the report server and double-click Administrative Tools, then Data Sources (ODBC).

    The ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog opens.

  1. Navigate to Windows sysWOW64, double-click the odbcad32 file.
  2. Click the System DSN tab, select SAMStore, and click Configure.

    The Microsoft SQL Server DSN Configuration dialog opens.

  3. Click Next, enter the new password in the Password field, and click Next again.

    The connection is verified with the new password.

  4. Click Finish.

    The password is changed for report server communication.

  5. Open the SOI_HOME\Reports\samreports.xml file on the report server, enter the new password in the <password> attribute, and save and close the file.
  6. Start the CA SAM Application Server and CA SAM User Interface Server services in SOI machine.

    The report redeployments that happen in future use the new database connection password.
