Modify CA Spectrum Rules for Sysedge Events and Alarms

In this procedure, you modify how CA Spectrum handles Sysedge events and alarms.

1. Copy SRM.Test.evd to the EventDisp file.
   1. Navigate to the SRM.Test directory in the Spectrum Content Directory.
   2. Open the SRM.Test.evd file in a text editor.
   3. Select all the contents and copy them to the clipboard.
   4. Close SRM.Test.evd.
   5. Navigate to custom\Events in the Spectrum root directory.
   6. Open the EventDisp file in a text editor.
   7. Go to a new line at the bottom of the file and paste the copied contents of the SRM.Test.evd file.
   8. Save and close the EventDisp file.
2. Copy SRM.Test.amp to the AlertMap file.
   1. Navigate to the SRM.Test directory in the Spectrum Content Directory.
   2. Open the SRM.Test.amp file in an editor.
   3. Select all the contents and copy them to the clipboard.
   4. Close SRM.Test.amp.
   5. Navigate to custom/Events in the Spectrum root directory.
   6. Open the AlertMap file in an editor. If one does not exist, create it.
   7. Go to a new line at the bottom of the file and paste the copied contents of the SRM.Test.amp file.
   8. Save and close the AlertMap file.
3. Copy SysEDGE5.APP.evd to the EventDisp file.
   1. Navigate to the SystemEdge directory in the Spectrum Content Directory.
   2. Open the SysEDGE5.APP.evd file in an editor.
   3. Select all the contents and copy them to the clipboard.
   4. Close SysEDGE5.APP.evd.
   5. Navigate to the Spectrum root directory from B11.1 Spectrum MLS Installation Worksheet.
   6. Navigate to custom/Events.
   7. Open the EventDisp file in an editor.
   8. Go to a new line at the bottom of the file and paste the copied contents of the SysEDGE5.APP.evd file.
   9. Save and close the EventDisp file.
4. Copy SysEDGE5.APP.amp to the AlertMap file
   1. Navigate to the SystemEdge directory in the Spectrum Content Directory.
   2. Open the SysEDGE5.APP.amp file in a text editor.
   3. Select all the contents and copy them to the clipboard.
   4. Close SysEDGE5.APP.amp.
   5. Navigate to custom\Events in the Spectrum root directory.
   6. Open the AlertMap file in a text editor.
   7. Go to a new line at the bottom of the file and paste the copied contents of the SysEDGE5.APP.amp file.
   8. Save and close the AlertMap file.
5. Comment out existing event definitions.
   1. Navigate to the Spectrum root directory.
   2. Navigate to SS\CsVendor\Ctron_Gen_HOST\Host_systemEDGE.
   3. Select and copy the EventDisp file.
   4. Paste the EventDisp file, in the same folder.
   5. Rename the copy to EventDisp.orig.
   6. Open EventDisp in a text editor.
   7. Find the line 0x116002f and put a hash and space at the start of the line. The line must be # 0x116002f.
   8. Save and close the EventDisp file.
6. Remove existing severity maps.
   1. Navigate to the Spectrum root directory.
   2. Navigate to SS\CsVendor\Ctron_Gen_HOST\SeverityMap.
   3. Select the AggCurrState file and rename it to AggCurrState.old.
7. Start a bash session.
   1. Click the Windows Start button.
   2. Search for enter bash -login.
8. Change to the vnmsh directory under the Spectrum root directory.
9. Enter the landscape handle for Spectrum MLS:

   connect lh=handle 
   

10. Enter where handle is the landscape handle for Spectrum MLS.

    update action=0x100a2 mh=handle
    

    You have modified the CA Spectrum rules for Sysedge events and alarms.

You have loaded the CA Spectrum landscape content to the regional deployment.
