How to Set up Microsoft Project with CA Clarity PPM
Requirements for New and Existing Customers
You must have the following components installed on your computer to use CA Clarity PPM with Microsoft Project:
- Microsoft Project.
Important! You must enable macros to set up Microsoft Project with CA Clarity PPM Schedule Connect.
- Sun Java Runtime Environment (JRE). If you have the access rights to download software and if it is available from CA Clarity PPM on the Account Settings: Software Downloads page, you can download JRE from CA Clarity PPM.
- CA Clarity PPM Schedule Connect
Note: You must install a version of CA Clarity PPM Schedule Connect that is compatible with the CA Clarity PPM server to which you are connecting. To check your CA Clarity PPM version, open the About page.
About Upgrades
Periodically check for CA Clarity PPM releases or patches. Accompanying release notes advise you if a CA Clarity PPM Microsoft Project Interface or CA Clarity PPM Schedule Connect upgrade is recommended or required.
In general, you are not required to upgrade CA Clarity PPM Schedule Connect each time the CA Clarity PPM server is upgraded. However, you will not have installed on your computer the product enhancements and bug fixes.
Use the following process to setup Microsoft Project with CA Clarity PPM:
- Install CA Clarity PPM Microsoft Project Interface with CA Clarity PPM Schedule Connect.
- Set up Microsoft Project with CA Clarity PPM Microsoft Project Interface.
- Set browser options.
- Connect to a CA Clarity PPM server.
- Set up Microsoft Project.
