Add Compound Fields
You can add compound fields when you add an input field to the Input table.
To add compound fields
- On the Input toolbar, click
to open the Add Compound Field window.
- In Name, type a name for this field, to be referred to by other elements.
- In Type, select the data type of the field (String, Integer, Real or Time).
- In Advanced settings, click
to expand the panel. Select the
- In Time Format, specify date and time format following which the field is parsed.
Default value
Select value - Select from the drop-down list of existing time formats or click Add new time format to create a new format.
Note: This attribute is enabled when Type is set to Time.
- In Digit grouping symbol, specify the digit grouping symbol for integer and real fields.
Default value
Select value - Type a symbol value in the box.
Note: This attribute is enabled when Type is set to Integer or Real.
- In Decimal symbol, specify the decimal symbol for real fields.
Default value
Select value - Type a symbol value in the box.
Note: This attribute is enabled when Type is set to Real.
- Click Add compound segment to create a compound segment.
- Fill in the columns as follows:
- Source Field - The field to be based on. The referred field should already be defined.
- Xpath Expression - The manipulating xpath expression.
- Regular Expression - The manipulating regular expression. For more information on regular expression syntax, see Regular Expression Syntax.
- Match Case - Define if the regular expression matching is case sensitive.
- Selection Start - The text extraction start position, starting from zero.
- Selection Length - the text extraction size.
- Prefix - A string to be prefixed to the manipulation result.
- Suffix - A string to be suffixed to the manipulation result.
- Click
to cancel the operation and return to the Input field details page —or—
- Click
to update. The Add Compound Field window is displayed showing the added segment.
- If necessary, repeat step 5 to add more compound segments.
Note: The order of the segments can be changed by clicking
or
.
- Click
to delete the field unless it is used by another entity. In this case, the entity must be deleted first.
- Click
to edit the field.
- Click OK. The Mapping step is displayed showing the added field.
- If necessary, click
and repeat steps 1-6 to add more compound fields.
- Click
to delete the field.
- Click
to edit the field.
