Data Loading Forms

Data Loading Forms enable you to load data by filling-in customized forms, without having to configure adapters and going through CA Business Service Insight’s resources model. These forms can be powerful where there is an occasional need to load some events manually. For example, information on outages that are not entered through the data source or customer satisfaction questionnaires that end users complete. Administrators can easily customize the forms to fit the needs of every type of data or user.

Data Loading Forms include:

• Defining Forms

  The administrator can define forms that can be used later on by users to add events to the system manually. The administrator can configure form can to contain fields that are comprehensible for the end user. These fields are mapped to the appropriate event or events that are created once the form is submitted.

  Defining Forms enables you to:

  • Manually load a small quantity of events into CA Business Service Insight. Normally, loading events requires connecting to a data source by configuring adapters and going through CA Business Service Insight’s resources model. While this process can be powerful for continuous and automatic feeds of events into the systems, there is an occasional need to load a small quantity of events manually.

    For example, help tickets are usually entered into CA Business Service Insight automatically by reading the data source through the adapters.

  • Ease the administration and reduce the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by minimizing the on-going maintenance effort.
  • Shorten the implementation time by providing a means to create test data without having to configure adapters.
• Using Forms

  End users can take advantage of forms to append data to CA Business Service Insight manually.

• Administrating Forms

  You can administer the forms in a central location. Administration includes capabilities such as adding, deleting, and modifying a form as well as setting access rights to the forms.
