Search for a Resource or Resource Group
By default, the Resources page displays an alphabetical list of all resources and resource groups that are valid as of the resources effective date. To shorten the list, use the search procedure defined below.
To search for a resource or resource group
- In the Resources page, select a search option or options:
- Name: Select Name, Display Name or Description and type the criteria in the field. Wildcards can be used.
- Entity Type: Select the Resource, Resource Group or both check boxes.
- Resource Group: Select from a list of existing groups.
- Contract Party: Select from a list of existing parties.
- Service: Select from a list of existing services.
- Resource Type: Select from a list of existing resource types.
- Change Set: Select from a list of existing and enabled change sets.
- Timestamp: Select from a list of time options.
If Time Range is selected, a resource appears even if it is effective for part of that range. All other search criteria must apply for the specific resource for at least one second in this time range.
If Specific Time is selected, all other search criteria must apply for the resource in this time. For example, time=2005/10/10 and effective=yes searches for all the resources effective on 2005/10/10.
The default selected option is Current Time.
- Show committed values only: Search for committed values only.
- Click Search.
The results display below the search area.
Note: You can also select a letter from the alphabet list to display a list of resources that begins with that letter.
You can use an advanced filtering mechanism for additional refining of the search results.
To add advanced filtering options
- Repeat step one from above.
- Click Advanced.
The Resource Advanced Search page opens.
- Select a search option or options:
- Search Resources for: Select First level hierarchy or Any hierarchy.
- Changed Type: Select the Committed Values, Uncommitted Values or both check boxes.
- Status: Select the Effective, Not effective or both check boxes.
- Attached Resource Type: Select from available resources only and set the attached resource type equal or not equal to the selected entities.
- Attached Resource Group: Select from available resources and resource groups and set the attached resource group equal or not equal to the selected entities. Retrieves all the resources in the group, with or without a recursive search, since a resource group can contain other resource groups.
- Attached Resource: Retrieves all the resource groups containing the given resource.
- Attached Contract Party: Retrieves all the contract parties containing the given resource.
- Attached Service: Select from available services and set the attached service equal or not equal to the selected entities. With/without recursive search. Recursive search returns all resources allocated recursively to the resource group that the given service is attached to.
- Attached Custom Attribute: Set the values for the custom attributes created using the Custom Attributes page under the Catalog tab.
- Attached time Zone: Select from available time zones only and set the attached time zone equal or not equal to the selected entities.
- Click Search.
