Upgrade CA Automation Suite for Clouds with the Service cartridge

Before you start upgrading, rename all the existing service cartridge folders with a suffix, _old. This step prevents conflict among the new files that you are going to deploy.

Note: For information about the contents of the folder, see the Prepare the Installation Worksheet section.

Follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the server where CA Service Catalog is installed.
  2. Download the service cartridge from the CA Technologies support website.
  3. Copy the CA ASC Amazon Web Services folder to the %USM_HOME%\filestore\contentpacks folder on the CA Service Catalog server.
  4. Open a Command Prompt window, change directory to %USM_HOME%/filestore/contentpacks/CA ASC Amazon Web Services.
  5. Run DeployContentpack.cmd.

The service cartridge deployment starts and the following prompt appears:

Please confirm you have already installed the database component

  6. Type y at the following prompt to continue.
Enter y/n if you have already created Database Objects:

  7. Type the tenant ID at the following prompt:
[input] Enter the id of the tenant you want to import the content pack into (Required):

The tenant ID is case-sensitive. If the tenant ID case does not match, it shows an error message. Repeat this procedure for every tenant.

For example, if you used Forward Inc. during CA Automation Suite for Clouds installation, then use it as the tenant ID.

  8. Type y at the following prompt:
Installation will re-start CA Service View multiple times. Please press y to continue or any key to exit.

On the successful deployment, the message BUILD SUCCESSFUL appears.

The installer detects the existing version of the service cartridge in your environment, the following message appears:

CA ASC Amazon Web Services Service cartridge 1.5 SP01 is detected, do you want to upgrade? Press y to upgrade or any key to exit the setup:

  9. Type y to continue to upgrade.

If an existing installation is not detected, the installation of CA Automation Suite for Clouds with Amazon Web Services Release 01.6.00 proceeds.

On the successful upgrade, the message BUILD SUCCESSFUL appears.

If the build has failed, press any key other than y to exit the setup.

  10. Type y at the following prompt to create service groups:
If build is successful, enter y to Create Groups or any key to exit the setup:

  11. Complete the following fields at the prompt:
Enter Service Catalog Admin User ID:
    Enter Service Catalog Admin Password:

If prompted, provide the CA Service Catalog host name and port information.

  12. Complete the following fields and create groups in CA EEM if prompted:

After the groups are created, the following message opens:

Offering permissions set in CA Service Catalog.

This script creates the following groups in CA EEM and assigns permissions to the services offered in CA Service Catalog:

Note: The newly created groups in CA EEM are used for the Request user to Service Group offering. All the permissions and groups that are created in earlier versions of CA Automation Suite for Clouds remain unchanged. The new groups and permissions are in addition to the existing set of permissions and groups.
