The SYSPRINT output is passed to the second step as that its input.
The second step examines the output from the BTI step and generates another card-image BTI data set through ddname DT10OUT. This data set is the input to Job 2. The SASSDT10-01 control report is produced through the ddname DT10CR01. The report can help determine whether this step ran correctly.
