Take a Job off Ice

You can use the Off Ice command to send a JOB_OFF_ICE event to the selected job or box job. The JOB_OFF_ICE event instructs the scheduling manager to remove the specified job from ON_ICE status. Jobs that are taken off ice do not start until the next time their starting conditions are met. If the specified job is in a box job with a RUNNING status, the scheduling manager attempts to start it, conditions permitting.

Follow these steps:

1. Find the appropriate job or box job.
2. Do one of the following:
   • Right-click that job in the Jobs table and select Off Ice from the pop-up menu

     Note: To send the command to multiple jobs or box jobs, use the Shift or Ctrl key and mouse to select the appropriate jobs or box jobs. Next, right-click, and select Off Ice from the pop-up menu.

   • Select the appropriate jobs or box jobs in the flow, right-click, and select Off Ice from the pop-up menu.
   • Select the appropriate jobs or box jobs in the Jobs or Box Jobs sections on the View Details or Box Job Details page. Next, select Off Ice from the Select and drop-down list, and click Go.

   A confirmation prompt appears.

3. Click Yes.

   The selected job is taken off ice.

Note: Alternatively, you can use the Send Event or Send Server Event dialog to send this event.
