The Job pop-up menu appears when you right-click an object in the Jobs table of the Monitoring page.
The options on the Job pop-up menu vary based on the type of object selected.
This menu contains the following options:
Opens Quick View in context, so you can view the properties for the selected job or box job.
Opens Quick Edit in context, so you can edit the properties for the selected job or box job.
Sends a STARTJOB event that instructs the scheduling manager to start the job, regardless of any date and time starting conditions set for it, but only if its other starting conditions are satisfied and it is not already running. This is the recommended method of manually starting a job. However, you should only use the Start command to start top-level jobs. Do not use the Start command on jobs in box jobs. Jobs in box jobs inherit the starting conditions of these box jobs; as a result, they start when the box job starts. When you select this command, you are prompted to confirm the action.
Sends a FORCE_STARTJOB event that instructs the scheduling manager to start the job, regardless of any starting conditions or dependencies set for it. When you select this command, you are prompted to confirm the action.
Sends a JOB_ON_HOLD event that instructs the scheduling manager to put the job in ON_HOLD status. If the selected job's status is STARTING or RUNNING, the scheduling manager does not change its status to ON_HOLD. When you select this command, you are prompted to confirm the action.
Sends a JOB_OFF_HOLD event that instructs the scheduling manager to change the job's status to OFF_HOLD. The job continues processing as it was before its status changed to ON_HOLD. If its starting conditions have been met, the job starts. When you select this command, you are prompted to confirm the action.
Sends a JOB_ON_ICE event that instructs the scheduling manager to change the job's status to ON_ICE, which is the functional equivalent of deactivating the job definition. If the job's status is STARTING or RUNNING, the scheduling manager does not change its status to ON_ICE. When you select this command, you are prompted to confirm the action.
Sends a JOB_OFF_ICE event that instructs the scheduling manager to change the job's status to OFF_ICE, which is the functional equivalent of activating the job definition. The job will start the next time its starting conditions are met. Furthermore, if the job is in a box job with a RUNNING status, the scheduling manager attempts to start it (conditions permitting). When you select this command, you are prompted to confirm the action.
Sends a KILLJOB event that instructs the scheduling manager to kill the job. If the selected job is a box job, the scheduling manager changes the box job's status to TERMINATED and (if configured to do so) also kills the jobs it contains. The result of this command depends on the type of job selected and the type of server (UNIX or Windows) on which the job is running. When you select this command, you are prompted to confirm the action.
Releases the resources that are being held by a terminated job. This is applicable only to jobs with a dependency on renewable resources that have been defined with the FREE=N attribute. This command is not available for box jobs. When you select this command, you are prompted to confirm the action.
Opens the Send Event dialog so you can define an event to send to the selected job.
Opens the Cancel Event dialog so you can cancel an event sent for a job using the Send Event command.
