Use the DIAL rule to control the terminal addresses that can use the CP DIAL command to dial to a user ID.
{ACCEPT | REJECT} requester DIAL ["Parms"] [("Options"]
Parms:
{dialaddr | *} [node]
Options:
[DAY dayname[‑dayname]] [EXPIRE mm/dd/yy [hh:mm:ss]] [IPADDR | LDEV | NETID] [PSWD password | NOPASS] [TIME hhmm hhmm]
Accepts or rejects the DIAL request controlled by this rule.
Defines the set of terminal addresses this rule is to govern. Values for requester are explained in Specifying Terminal Addresses for the requester Variable in this chapter.
You must also specify an option that corresponds to the type of terminal address specified for requester.
Specifies that an address that can be specified on the DIAL command line. If this address is not used in the rule, or is specified as '*,' then the rule applies to all dial‑able addresses within the scope of the rule.
Specifies the member system node name, in a Single System Image complex, where a terminal real address is connected. Because the same terminal real address might be defined on multiple member names in a complex, the node name parameter is required when one specific terminal authorization is granted. If the node name is omitted, then the rule applies for the terminal address on any member node. The node parameter applies only to channel connected 3270 and logical device terminals.
The DIAL rule can take a number of options. All options are prefixed by an opening parenthesis, (.
These options specify the terminal type. If the terminal that this rule governs is not a channel connected 3270 terminal, select one of these options. You cannot set a wildcard as terminal type.

Example: Allowing all terminal addresses and types to DIAL to the system
To allow all terminal addresses to DIAL to the system, regardless of terminal type, define a rule for each terminal type:
ACCEPT * DIAL * for DIAL from real addresses
ACCEPT * DIAL (IPADDR * for DIAL from IPV4 or IPV6 addresses
ACCEPT * DIAL (LDEV * for DIAL from logical devices
ACCEPT * DIAL (NETID * for DIAL from network IDs
If you do not specify terminal address types for DIAL rules, some users will not be able to DIAL into a system. Ensure all DIAL rules are updated to include a rule for each terminal address type that can DIAL to your system.
Note: For more information about the options, see Common Rule Options.
