Scheduler as an Application (Windows Client Scheduler)

When you run the Scheduler as an application, it inherits the security level from your user account. This gives the Scheduler the ability to access all of the destinations you can. The Scheduler runs as an independent application, which means it will continue to work when the Windows Client is shut down. If you reboot or log off, the Scheduler shuts down and does not restart automatically. However, when you start the Windows Client, it will prompt you to start the Scheduler.

To have the Scheduler application start automatically each time you logon, you need to create a shortcut and place it in the Startup menu.

Note: For more information, see the topic Configure the Scheduler Application to Run at Startup.

When you activate the Scheduler as an application, the Scheduler icon appears in the Windows system tray. You can shut the Scheduler down by right-clicking this icon and selecting the Close option.
