If you are running the Windows Client on Vista or Windows Server 2008 / 2008 R2 and User Account Control (UAC) is enabled and you cannot start the Scheduler service; or if you have the Application Server installed on the same machine as the Windows Client; start the Scheduler service in one of the following ways:
Note: Windows Server 2008 R2 is supported only for the standalone Windows Client and not for the Application Server.
Doing so allows you to start and stop the Scheduler service as outlined in the topic Start or Stop the Scheduler.
Once the Scheduler has been started, any user who logs on to the Windows Client computer will be able to schedule output reports. However, non-administrator users will be unable to stop the scheduler from within the Windows Client.
Note: A User Account Control dialog might appear. If the dialog appears, you need administrative privileges to change the status of the Scheduler service. Comply with the User Account Control dialog to continue.
