To specify which Policy Server(s) can be accessed by a trusted host, add them to the Host Configuration Object.

Note: You must create a Host Configuration Object before deleting trusted host objects, and specify the destination Policy Server(s).

To add a Policy Server to the Host Configuration Object

  1. Access the Policy Server User Interface.
  2. Double-click a Host Configuration Object from the list.

The Host Configuration Object Properties opens.

  3. Highlight the #PolicyServer parameter and click Edit.

    The Edit Parameter Dialog opens.

  4. Remove the pound sign (#) from the parameter name.
  5. In the Value field, enter the address, including port numbers of the Policy Server. The syntax is:

    <policy_server_IP_address>,<Accounting_port>,<Authentication_port>,<Authorization_port>

When adding multiple Policy Servers to the Host Configuration Object, they must be added as a multi-valued parameter. For an example of entering a multi-valued parameter for Policy Servers, read the procedure in Configure a Multi-Value Parameter.

Note: For load balancing or failover operation, you need to have more than one Policy Server defined in the Host Configuration Object.
