Create a Host Configuration Object Without Using an Existing Object

You can create a new Host Configuration Object without duplicating an existing object.

Note: When you create or modify a Policy Server object in the Policy Server User Interface, use ASCII characters. Object creation or modification with non-ASCII characters is not supported.

To create a host configuration object

  1. Open the Policy Server User Interface.
  2. From the System tab, right-click Host Conf Objects.
  3. Select Create Host Conf Object.

The Host Configuration Object Properties dialog opens.

  4. Select the General tab.
  5. In the Name field, enter a name for the Host Configuration Object.
  6. Optionally, in the Description field, enter a description for the object.
  7. To specify parameters, click Add.

    The Edit Parameter Dialog opens.

  8. Use the Edit Parameter Dialog to specify parameters and values.

Although you can specify multiple values for some parameters, each parameter name must be unique.

  9. Click Apply to write each parameter to the policy store.
  10. When you are finished adding parameters, click OK.
