There are many ways to configure the various policy server objects. Later topics will discuss in detail how the objects can be configured to best serve your needs.
To configure a policy server object
The tab you select depends on whether the Policy Server object must be configured by an administrator with the Manage All System and Domain Objects privilege or the Manage Domain Objects privilege.
Note: If you login as an administrator for specific policy domains, there are no tabs to chose from in the Object pane. Instead, the available objects are simply listed in the Object pane.
The dialog associated with the selected object type opens.
See the chapter associated with the object type for detailed information about the fields and controls contained in the dialog or click the Help button in the dialog.
Note: The asterisk (*) and ampersand (&) characters may not be used in the Name field of any Policy Server object. These characters are invalid in object names and should be avoided.
Note: When you create or modify a Policy Server object in the Policy Server User Interface, use ASCII characters. Object creation or modification with non-ASCII characters is not supported.
